Bakore

The Place: Bakore, in Mahisagar district in eastern Gujarat, is a campsite developed by Sundarvan. It is surrounded by a rolling countryside with small Arravali hills dotting the horizon. With good forest harbouring excellent bird life, a water fall and a distinct tribal culture, it is an ideal location for outdoor experience. The forest of Bakore is home to a number of animals such as Nilgai, Hyena and Jackal. Bird life is abundant and includes the Indian Pita, the Paradise Flycatcher and the often heard but seldom seen, Painted Partridge.

Activities: The three-day camp involves activities like trekking, rock climbing, knots, art and crafts, bird watching, star gazing, cross country trek to Leopard’s Cave and Kaleshwari archaeological site.

Things to Carry: Necessary clothes, light bedding, night dress, water bottle, spoon, mug, sports shoes, towel, warm clothing and a good torch for the night. Please note that we are going to stay in camp huts. Do not carry any unnecessary items with you.
